How to do a Shell Stitch
This is from a book that was published in 1980. ( Yes I keep all my Crochet Books, lol)
Shell Stitch
This is one of many varieties of Shell Stitch. Once you have learnt this basic stitch, you'll find directions for others easy to follow.
Make a foundation chain of 25 stitches ( or other multiple of 6 stitches plus 1) for practice piece.
1st Row: work 2dc in 4th chain from hook (half shell made), skip 2 ch, sc in next ch, *skip 2 ch, work 5dc all in next ch (shell made), skip 2 ch, sc in next ch. Repeat from * across, ch 3, to turn.
2nd Row: Work 2dc in first sc ( half shell), skip 2 dc of shell, sc in next dc, * skip 2dc of same shell, work shell ( 5dc) in next sc, skip 2dc of next shell, sc in next dc. Repeat from * across, working last sc in top of turning ch. Ch 3, turn. Repeat 2nd Row for pattern.

Friday!!!!!!
Hello everyone,
Here it is Friday, one more day to work this week. Then crochet time. One of my daughter's is coming to visit this weekend so I probably won't get much crocheting done. I found a baby sweater set pattern that uses "cross" stitches. You skip a stitch, dc in next three stitches then go back to the skipped stitch and do a dc around all three stitches. This stitch is in a Leisure Arts book. It looks really nice when done. The book is called Baby Layettes and Afghans, and the set is called Lacy-Soft Layette. I will post a picture of it when I finish it. Have you noticed any stores that have Christmas items out yet? Well, where I work (Home Hardware) we started to put ours out already. It is really hard to think Christmas when it is in the 80 degrees above outside. Thinking Christmas does not make it any cooler.
Till next time, take care and Happy Crocheting.

Baby, Baby, Baby
It seems I am stuck on baby outfits, but I love them. They are so easy to make and they don't take alot of time. I have been working on some new ones and I will post pictures of them. i also am making some doll clothes. My grandaughter keeps asking me who they are for, and she tells me she really likes them, hint hint. She plays with them every time she comes over.

As you can see I love to crochet. I would crochet all the time but I also work full time, so I crochet when I can. I also crochet for other people, so if you ever want something crocheted let me know. Right now I am crocheting for a Christmas craft sale in November so I am crocheting every chance I get. Morning till night when I am not working.
