Crumpled Stitch Pattern

Hello, Here is a "Crumpled Stitch Pattern" from the book, "Teach Yourself Visually" Crocheting.

Crumpled Stitch Pattern

The foundation chain for this pattern consists of an even number plus 1 for the turning chain.

Row 1: Work one single crochet into the second chain from the hook. * Work 1 double crochet into the next chain. Work 1 single crochet into the next chain. Repeat from the * across the row to the last chain, and work 1 double crochet into the last chain. Chain 1 and turn.
Row 2: Work 1 single crochet into the first stitch. * Work 1 double crochet into the next stitch. Work 1 single crochet into the next stitch. Repeat from the * across the row to the last stitch, and work 1 double crochet into the last stitch. Chain 1 and turn.

Repeat Row 2.

NOTICE: that you work single crochet into the double crochet stitches of the previous row, and vice versa.
