Shell Stitch
This is one of many varieties of Shell Stitch. Once you have learnt this basic stitch, you'll find directions for others easy to follow.
Make a foundation chain of 25 stitches ( or other multiple of 6 stitches plus 1) for practice piece.
1st Row: work 2dc in 4th chain from hook (half shell made), skip 2 ch, sc in next ch, *skip 2 ch, work 5dc all in next ch (shell made), skip 2 ch, sc in next ch. Repeat from * across, ch 3, to turn.
2nd Row: Work 2dc in first sc ( half shell), skip 2 dc of shell, sc in next dc, * skip 2dc of same shell, work shell ( 5dc) in next sc, skip 2dc of next shell, sc in next dc. Repeat from * across, working last sc in top of turning ch. Ch 3, turn. Repeat 2nd Row for pattern.
